"Back to School"! Welcome back to in person learning!
Announced last week, post secondary schools will be doing hybrid learning this coming fall.
What does this mean? This means that students will have a mix of in person and online learning,
with the hope that full in person learning returns in winter 2022. This is very exciting and
hopefully is the start of returning to normal for students and professors.
Of course, with the return of students in schools, there will need to be new rules put in place in
order to keep everyone safe.
There will not be as many students in the schools, which makes it easier for students to get away
with defying the rules. In order to keep everyone safe and schools remaining open, there needs to
be security put in place.
Harkav Security offers many services to serve new rules.
On campus patrol:
Security on campus is not new. It has always been important to have a security team on campus,
ensuring students are safe. However, with new Covid rules, security guards are asked to keep an
eye out on a few more things.
1. Blocked areas: Many areas on campus will be blocked off in order to keep the virus
from possibly spreading. Harkav Security guards will be patrolling blocked off areas,
ensuring no student finds their way in. Some of these areas are : Social seating,
restaurants and benches.
2. Limited capacity patrol: Limited capacity is not something new. Over the past year and
a half, businesses have been putting a limited capacity in order to keep everyone safe. At
school, that will be the same case. Limited capacities for school stores, cafes, restaurants,
offices and bathrooms. Harkav Security guards will ensure that the limit is not exceeded.
Not only is this important in keeping everyone safe, but also keeping the school open.
3. Masks: Regardless of vaccination and capacity limit, masks will still be required. Some
students may feel that they do not have to wear a mask since they have received the
vaccine. In order to keep everyone safe and remain in the classroom, there is no
exception to this rule. Harkav Security guards will remind students to wear their masks,
and direct any students who do not comply, out of the classroom.
Maintaining other forms of security:
Covid or not, safety on campus is important. The same types of security pre Covid, are
still needed now, even more than before.
1. Loss prevention: Theft is not unheard of at schools, Whether it's theft from another
student or left from the school, it is unfortunately quite common. With fewer students on
campus, there is a good chance that students may feel more confident about theft. Book
stores are one of the main places where theft takes place. With less people around, it is
more likely that a student may try to steal an item/items. Harkav security guards will
patrol book stores and other stores on campus to ensure no one leaves with unpaid items.
The entrance and exit of stores will be heavily patrolled, just in case anyone tries to make
